Well Brandon certainly rode the waves in New Smyrna Beach, Florida in the World Series of Racing, 2012. He got off to an amazing start and after a few adjustments on Practice Day and an amazing qualifying run, the First Night was rained out in New Smyrna.
On Night 2 after already qualifying on Friday, Brandon went on the Win the first race of the Series. Unfortunately, Ricky Brook’s Room of Doom turned out to be just that and after checking numerous things on the car, found that the Rockers (which were Harper “motor builder” rockers) turned out to be illegal. Fortunately for Brandon, unlike previous years where he would have started at the tail end of the field on the next night, he was able to qualify and stay up at the front.
Night #3 Brandon again qualified at the front and started in the 3rd position, but during Lap 3 got tangled up with another car and ended up finishing in 4th.
Night #4 – The Pro Late Models were off so the boys went to Volusia Dirt Track to watch the races (just couldn’t get enough!!!) Brandon really wants to try racing one of those cars.
Night #5 Brandon again qualified at the front of the field and after a very good race, finished 3rd.
Night #6 Was unfortunately another rain-out, which was very unfortunate for Brandon as he was steadily gaining back the points he had lost the first night.
Night #7 Brandon started in the 4th position and ended up with a 5th place finish.
Night #8 Brandon fell a little back to the 6th starting position but was up into 2nd place by about the 5th lap, when trying to pass the leader on the outside of Turn 4, was pushed fairly hard into the outside wall, he was able to keep racing hard for a couple of laps but he ended up with a flat rear tire and was unable to finish the race.
Night #9 – Final Night and everyone came out to win in the first 5 laps (even tho it was a 50 Lap race!!!) Brandon qualified 3rd and after a couple of bad starts to the race was up to 3rd position, after Powell dive bombed into corner 1 to get in front of him, Brandon fell back to 5th position. Powell and Gressel then got into each other and spun taking out 5 cars, including Brandon with nowher e to go, and so his night was ended on the 17th Lap.

Well on with the New Year, the crew is busy working on Brandon’s car for the annual trip to the World Series of Racing in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Racing begins on Thursday, February 16, and runs until Saturday, February 25, 2012. A new body has been put on the Car and we will be posting pictures of the “New” Design and colors as soon as it is completed. Stay Tuned!

Before we head into the New Year, it is time to wrap up 2011. Brandon ran into numerous car issues at the last couple of races in the JEGS and ended up dropping from 5th position into 7th, where he ended up finishing the series. As he and the crew were missing the long hauls to the states, we packed up to attend the Series Banquet in Indianapolis, Indiana on January 14, 2012. It was quite a different drive with the colder weather and had a little less stress!!
Brandon picked up his Award for finishing 7th in the series along with winning a couple of good draws for 4 Basset Rims and 1 New Drivers Seat from Butler.
